What forms of payment are accepted for renting a car?

We accept all major credit cards, American Express, MasterCard, Visa, and Diners Club, as well as debit cards for both online and in-branch payments. We do not accept cash.

We regret, African Bank and Capitec Bank credit cards are not accepted for luxury vehicles.

Credit card payments
A physical credit card (for the deposit) in the name of the renter must be presented at the time of vehicle collection - unfortunately virtual cards are not accepted for this purpose.

Renters without a ticketed return travel itinerary will need to provide a credit card with sufficient available credit to cover the estimated total amount for the rental and a deposit depending on the rental location and class of vehicle rented.

Debit card payments
When using a debit card, payments and deposits are charged upfront and attract a higher deposit than when using a credit card. Debit card payments apply to rentals from selected vehicle groups.

How to book
• Website: Follow our easy three-step booking process on www.enterprise.co.za and simply select debit card payment on the confirmation screen. You’ll see the rental costs broken down in the cost summary section.

• In-branch: When booking in-branch, debit card transactions will be handled by dedicated rental agents, who will guide you through the terms, deposit, and fees before processing.

Deposits and admin fees

An admin fee of 5% of the daily rental rate (capped at R1000) applies to all debit card rentals.

One debit card can be used per rental and the same card must be used for booking and collection.

Extending your rental booking
If you need your vehicle for longer, you can return to a branch to open a new rental agreement. Rental extensions are not allowed for debit card bookings.

Refunds process
Refunds are processed 7–10 working days after the rental agreement is closed.

Vehicles which can be booked with a debit card

Paying traffic fines
Traffic fines cannot be charged to debit cards and will need to be settled separately. If you get a traffic fine in your rented car, we will communicate with you and send you an invoice to make the payment by EFT.

Credit checks
South African customers need a minimum credit score of 550 to qualify.

Foreign customers will not require a credit check but must provide a 365ID passport and license check along with proof of a return flight.
