What forms of payment are accepted for renting a car?
Enterprise accepts the following forms of payment:
- Credit Cards
- VISA®
- MasterCard®
- American Express®
Renters without a ticketed return travel itinerary will need to provide a credit card with sufficient available credit to cover the estimated total amount for the rental and a deposit depending on the rental location and class of vehicle rented.
Debit/Cheque Cards
Debit/cheque cards are any non-credit cards bearing the VISA® or Mastercard® logo. Prepaid cards or any other non-credit cards without one of these logos are not accepted.
At airport locations, debit cards are only accepted at the time of rental if accompanied by a ticketed return travel itinerary. The name and address shown on the renter’s driver’s licence must match their current home address. Active-duty military personnel are exempt from address requirements.
Other than the Renter’s spouse or domestic partner, no other additional drivers are allowed. Additionally, the Renter is responsible for any overdraft fees incurred.
Cash
For security reasons, many Enterprise branches do not accept cash payments; however, some branches may accept cash at the end of the rental for final payment after the vehicle has been retured. Check with your rental location to see id the the rental location accepts cash at the end of the rental.
